Trundle Wants To Extend Contract

Despite his bad news on the injury front, Lee Trundle has today stated that he would like to talk to Swansea about extending his current contract. Trundle has been virtually ruled out of Swansea's first three league fixtures after aggrevating a knee injury in Tuesday night's outing at Skewen. However, last season's top scorer admitted that he is excited by Swansea's future and would definitely like to begin talks about extending his current deal.

Trundle's current contract runs out next summer, which means that Swansea could lose one of their star assets on a free transfer. There is likely to be no shortage of takers for a striker that blitzed his way to the top of the goalscoring charts before Christmas last year. Unfortunately, injuries forced Trundle to miss the majority of Swansea's post-Xmas action...which is becoming an all too familiar story for the striker.

All that remains to be seen, is whether or not Trundle will be a major part of new manager Kenny Jackett's plans, as there is always a chance that the fitness disciplinarian may deem him surplus to requirements. Nevertheless, Swansea supporters will be delighted to hear that one of last season's top performers wants to commit his future to the club and eventually play at the White Rock Stadium (as it was formerly known...).
