Tate Set For Midfield Role

Central defender Alan Tate looks set to be moved into the centre of midfield in tomorrow's League Two clash with Notts County, as Kenny Jackett attempts to find cover for the injured Kris O'Leary. O'Leary picked up an injury in the dying minutes against Stockport on Tuesday evening and is extremely unlikely to return in time for this weekend's fixture, leaving Jackett with something of a selection headache.

With Gary Fisken and Andy Gurney failing to impress in Swansea's defeat against Bury in November, Jackett has been looking in to playing central defender Alan Tate out of position in O'Leary's defensive midfield role in training this week...which will surely suprise many Swansea supporters.

Tate actually began his playing career as a central midfielder at Manchester United, before being moved to his current defensive role, but Jackett has clearly seen qualities that will merit a starting place in the centre of his Swansea line-up on Saturday. Should Jackett opt for such a selection, there will be increased speculation into the future of Gary Fisken, who appears unable to merit a first team run-out this season.

Swansea supporters will merely be hoping that their side overcome a run of indifferent recent form - no matter the side that is selected.
