Swans lose Painter to injury

The Swansea full-back, was stretchered off in the 50th minute in the game against Southampton on Saturday. Marcos Painter the Swans full-back will be out for at least six months with raptured knee ligaments, this means that he may miss the rest of the season. Painter, who has sighned a new deal with the Swans, went down after his leg locked into the floor.

The 23 year old said "I'm devastated at the news as I'm going to be out for a good while, the timescale is six months." 

Marcos is going to have surgery when the swelling of his right knee has gone down but he is confident of a full recovery.

The manager of the Swans Roberto Martinez said "It is dissapointing for us but we now hope Marcos recovers quickly."
