Swans Boast Best Defensive Record In League Two

Swansea's victory at league leaders Wycombe pushed the South Wales club back into the playoffs, knowing that victory next Saturday could well push them into the automatic positions! Kenny Jackett appears to have finally improved the one area of Swansea's squad that proved Brian Flynn's downfall - the defence. Ricketts, Austin, Monk and Gurney looked as solid as ever in Buckinhamshire and Jackett must be happy to see that his side now boasts the best defensive record in the division.

Swansea have conceded just two goals so far this season in League Two, including two goals on the opening day against Northampton. It appears that the South Wales club's "smash and grab" victory that stole all three points from Wycombe may become something of a regular feature this season, as Swansea built on a rock-solid defence to begin their attacks. Perhaps, if Swansea continue to defend in such a manner, then one goal victories will become a regular occurance - something that Kenny Jackett will be delighted with if he achieves his end goal of promotion.

Therefore, it seems evident that this season's defence is the strongest that Swansea have seen for some considerable time. If Jackett can get the balance between his side's abundance of attacking flair and their defensive capabilities...then Swansea are in for a successful season.
