Robinson On Target In Final Swans Friendly

Andy Robinson grabbed Swansea's only goal of the game with a late penalty in their final pre-season friendly. The Dutch Tour is now officially over and focus will shift to next Saturday's season opener against Northampton Town.

Starting Line Up:

Gueret

O'Leary - Tate - Monk - Ricketts

Maylett - Robinson - Martinez - Britton

Connor - Nugent

Swansea were eventually overcome by what eventually proved to be a fitter Haarlem side. However, the Swans battled well in the first 45 minutes and for a large period of the second half, before the hosts eventually ran out 2-1 winners.

Kris O'Leary has added himself to the injury list once again - only lasting 30 minutes before being replaced by Stuart Jones. Swansea could have taken the lead through a number of chances, with Brad Maylett and Leon Britton both firing wide from excellent goal-scoring positions. The visitors did finally take the lead, when a bizarre handball in the box by a Haarlem defender allowed Robinson to slot home from the penalty spot. However, this goal appeared to spur Haarlem into action and after equalising not long after the penalty, scored the winner with around eight minutes to go.

Haarlem proved to be decent opposition and now hold the title as the only side to have beaten Swansea in their pre-season warm-ups. Jackett will be encouraged that both Monk and Connor came through this friendly unscathed as he attempts to put the finishing touches to his new Coca Cola League Two side.
