Jackson Launches "Personal" Attack

Huddersfield manager Peter Jackson's actions will hardly have benefited his professional reputation at the weekend and it appears that the ex-Terriers player certainly loves the sound of his own voice. After racing onto the pitch to join in with the 20-man fight at the end of the first half, the animated Jackson continued his assault on the visitors after the final whistle and showed a dislike for Swansea City that can only be described as "personal".

"Trundle is a t***", Jackson proclaimed loudly to an area of assembling sports journalists as the striker returned to the dressing room after the 3-1 defeat - a comment that last season's top goalscorer heard but sensibly offered no reaction. Hardly the sort of comments that you'd expect from a professional manager?

However, Swansea have come to expect such a comment from Jackson who angrily expressed that Trundle had shown his side a "lack of respect" by performing his famous "neck-roll" trick against Huddersfield two seasons ago. Even if emotions are running high, a professional manager should keep such pointless comments as those made on Saturday evening to himself, as they can surely benefit no-one.

Nevertheless, Jackson appeared to enjoy himself in the post-match press conference, claiming that a scoreline closer to 6 or 7-1 would have been a much fairer final result. No doubt, Jackson can expect a warm welcome in the return fixture later in the season and many in South Wales will surely be checking their fixture lists after reading some of the Huddersfield manager's post-match comments.
