Jackett Rubbishes Devaney Link

Swansea manager Kenny Jackett responded to newspaper reports that his side is in the running for Cheltenham midfielder by claiming that "there is no truth in the story". Reports had stated that Kenny Jackett was preparing a £50k offer for the transfer-listed Devaney, but it appears that these latest rumours are pure fabrication.

Speaking to the Evening Post, Jackett said "He's a right-sided player anyway, and we have got enough of those already". Jackett went on to confirm that he does often speak with Cheltenham manager John Ward, but that a move for Devaney has never been discussed.

Therefore it would appear that any apparent move for Devaney has been stopped before it had even began and these latest rumours are merely newspaper speculation. With Jackett looking to bolster his squad with a left-sided midfielder and striker, a move for Devaney would seem irrational.
