2,500 supporters were present to see Swansea earn a credible draw against top-flight Dutch opponents Den Haag and start their Dutch tour off on the right foot. Stuart Jones opened the scoring for the visitors, before ex-Celtic winger Jamie Smith's second half equaliser gave the Dutch side a share of the spoils.

Starting Line Up:

Swansea started the more vibrant - the pace and movement was excellent and they had their Dutch opponents chasing shadows. After just five minutes, a Roberto Martinez free-kick was fired into the 18-yard box, with Stuart Jones converting from close range. Den Haag had chances, probably the best falling to Jamie Smith who saw his header just wide. However, moves seemed to break down at both ends due to poor control, with Forbes and El Akchaoui the main culprits and the score remained the same at the break.

Den Haag came out for the second half and immediately began to attack the Swansea goal. Eventually their deserved equaliser fell to Jamie Smith, after Willy Gueret had dropped a cross from Portugese winger Dolores. It was harsh on Gueret, who had been impressive up to this point, yet stumbled into the massive frame of Austin and lost possession. Later in the half, Gueret picked up a back-pass, but the resulting free-kick was blasted into the wall.

However, Gueret kept his concentration and made a fantastic finger-tip save from a Den Haag header late on. The visitors best second-half effort came from Andy Robinson, who saw a free-kick well-saved by the Den Haag goalkeeper. Swansea began to physically tire and despite some late Dutch pressure, the scoreline of 1-1 was still intact at full time.

Kenny Jackett will probably be relatively pleased with this draw, considering the quality of the opposition. Swansea edged the first half, but Den Haag appeared in control in the second and the draw was probably a deserved result.
