Chairman Won't Panic Over Swans Performances

Swans Chairman Huw Jenkins issued a defiant statement over Kenny Jackett's future following recent complaints from the club's fans. Jenkins stated that the situation is nowhere near as bad as everyone is claiming and soon Jackett's first class planning off the pitch will pay dividends on it.

Manager Jackett has come under increased pressure to keep his job this week. Moans of discontent on message boards and radio phone-ins have been present for some time, yet criticism in local media and murmurs from Swansea's travelling midweek crowd have merely added to the pressure. However, Jackett remains defiant, and with two fixtures within 72 hours this weekend, claims that two decent performances could commence a snowball effect of good form.

So it seems that the Swansea board won't be swayed by this week's developments and are fully behind their manager. Jenkins believes that Jackett is the only man to take Swansea forward and claims fans are overreacting. He believes that by examining Swansea's first four performances, the situation is far better than supporters would have you suggest. Indeed, Jenkins claims that the Swans have been desperately unlucky not to win more than their four points to date.

Therefore, it appears that Kenny Jackett has the full backing of the board which can only be a good thing for the club. However, Jackett understands that he will be judged on results and that the only way for him to win over a sceptical crowd, is to start achieving success on the pitch.
