Another Manager Bites The Dust...

Jimmy Quinn has resigned as manager of Shrewsbury Town after a poor start to the new season. Shrewsbury currently prop up the football league but Quinn has claimed that he is putting the interests of the supporters first and believes a new manager would be the best way forward.

Quinn lead Shrewsbury to promotion from the Conference last season, with a penalty victory over Aldershot winning them the playoffs. The ex-Northern Ireland International striker took over from Kevin Radcliffe following the side's relegation from the Football League in 2003 and was apparently "adamant" that it was time for a change.

Chic Bates will be in charge for tomorrow's match against Southend United as the club attempt to battle their way off of the foot of the league.
