Akinfenwa Fee Likely To Hit £85k

The tribunal panel have decided that the figure that must be paid by Swansea for Adebayo Akinfenwa, with the likely fee set to hit around the £85k mark. The final fee will be subject to a number of clauses and works out as follows:

An upfront payment of £35k (made in two instalments)
£25k after 20 appearances
£25k after 20 appearances
£25k if Swans win promotion.
15% sell-on fee clause.

With Bayo likely to play at least 40 games for the club, the figure will most probably reach £85k, although the Swans could be forced to pay upto £110k depending on success on the pitch next season. Chairman Huw Jenkins will undoubtedly be disappointed with the verdict, as he was previously unwilling to pay the £70k that Torquay were asking for three weeks ago.
