Lee Trundle hit two late second half goals as the Swans won for the first time in the league this season against Doncaster Rovers at the Liberty Stadium.

Swans started the first half brightly and attacked from the off. However, Doncaster came more into the game with both ex Swan Jason Price and former Sunderland player Sean Thornton looking dangerous. The only scare for the Swans in the first half was a mix-up between Dennis Lawrence and Willie Gueret which nearly resulted in a goal for Doncaster striker Mark McCammon.

Dennis Lawrence on his Swans debut looked composed and comfortable on the ball, and the Swans rarely looked in danger after that mix-up. The referee, Anthony Bates from Staffordshire, did his best to spoil a very dour first half.

The second half started with both sides playing in the same vein as the first. The Swans did not look comfortable especially in midfield against a Doncaster side who eventually started to take control of the game. Apart from one long range effort from Sean Thornton which was well saved by Willie Gueret, Doncaster did not seriously test the Swans goal.

With the crowd calling for Bayo Akinfenwa, Kenny Jackett decided to make three substitutions. He first brought on Kris O'Leary for Tom Butler, and then moments later Akinfenwa for Fallon and Tom Williams for Kevin McLeod. This allowed Leon Britton to play wide on the right, his favourite position. This was an inspired move as Britton along with Pratley and Amankwah attacked the Rovers defence down the visitors left flank.

From one of these moves the ball was fed through to Trundle, who made no mistake for the first goal on eighty-three minutes. Then in injury time Trundle beat the offside trap to slot the ball past Blayney in the Doncaster goal for his and Swansea's second goal of the game.
