GOOD MONTH/ BAD MONTH - WILL THE REAL SWANSEA CITY PLEASE STAND UP!!

GOOD MONTH - LEON KNIGHT

It's been an excellent month for Leon Knight. The striker has bagged five goals for the Swans during this period to take his tally to seven for the season. Knight has taken his opportunity well, after an injury to Lee Trundle gave him the chance for a regular spot up front. It now looks likely that he will retain his position, even though Lee Trundle is relatively certain to be fit for Friday night's match with Tranmere Rovers at the Liberty, kick-off 7.45pm.

GOOD MONTH - DARREN PRATLEY

Pratley's performance for the Swans in September has been admirable. When you consider that he is still only twenty-one he has captained the side well. His performances have steadily improved as the season has progressed, in particular, the game against Crewe, in which he gave a commanding midfield show.

GOOD MONTH/ BAD MONTH - SWANSEA CITY

Will the real Swansea City please stand up!!

I have been unable to attend any away matches in September but have attended all the home matches without fail. In the 1-1 draw with Yeovil we were fortunate to get a point. In the game against Bradford we were good, but not brilliant, but won 1-0. In the game against Huddersfield we were simply awful and didn't deserve anything out of the game. The following Tuesday night game against Crewe, which we won 2-1, was our best home performance of the season by a mile!

We have been very inconsistent this season so far, looking good at times, and equally as poor at times, culminating with the Jekyll and Hyde performance against Forest last Saturday. Some say we are close to getting back to our best. I would like to agree, but feel we are some way from our excellent performances in the first few months of last season.

BAD MONTH - KENNY JACKETT

Kenny won't be a happy man. He has seen his side lose 5 of the first 12 games, conceding 15 goals during that time. His decision to drop Willie Gueret has been brave, as I feel, as do a lot of others, that Willie needed to be dropped for his inconsistent performances. Kenny Jackett is a perfectionist who has done and will do his utmost to ensure that the Swans get back up to the top of the league table, and soon. How long the Swans fans will give him though, and more to the point, how long will the club directors give him to acheive his aim, time will tell. His stubbornness in not bringing in an experienced No 2 may bring his time at this club to an end, sooner not later, unless performances along with results improve, and quickly.
