Swansea City       1 v 0

A goal on 73 minutes from substitute Andy Robinson was enough to give the Swans all three points this afternoon against Bradford City at the Liberty Stadium.

This was a much improved performance from the Swans with Alan Tate giving an outstanding performance in the centre of midfield alongside the ever-improving Darren Pratley. Tate, in particular, chased every ball and surely he has made this position his own for the rest of the season. At the back Dennis Lawrence, returning from injury, and Izzy Iriekpen both had solid games.

Swansea started the game brightly, with both Trundle and Bayo giving the Bantams defence a torrid time. Ricketts in the Bradford goal, however, had little to do apart from save a week low shot from Leon Britton. Towards the end of the first-half a smart move down the left, involving Butler and Trundle, ended with Butler's shot beating Ricketts only to see the ball rebound of the post.

At the end of the half Bradford lost Dean Windass to injury and he was replaced by Joe Colbeck. Colbeck's first tackle of the game ended with a yellow card after a poor tackle on Trundle.

The second half started much as the first with the Swans attacking the Bantams goal without success. An inspired substitution from Jackett on 67 minutes saw Robinson replace Britton on the Swansea right. Robinson repaid his manager's faith by hitting a low left-foot shot pass the helpless Ricketts to put the Swans 1-0 up. The Swans should have doubled their lead with both Trundle and Akinfenwa going close.

With minutes left on the clock Bradford threw everything at the Swans, including goal-keeper Ricketts venturing up for a corner. This was a jittery time for the Swans fans but Gueret kept his goal intact.
