West Ham Midfielder Keen On Swans Move

Local media are claiming that Swansea's chances of sealing a transfer for Gavin Williams have improved following the news that the midfielder is reportedly keen to return to South Wales. The ex-Yeovil midfielder, who quickly became an enemy of the North Bank after his Ayatollah celebration on Boxing Day 2003 could now be set for a remarkable transfer to Kenny Jackett's Swansea.

It is widely believed that Williams is not interested in reserve team football this season as he looks set to play little more than a bit-part in West Ham's return to the Premiership and his partner is also desperate to return to South Wales. However, the one remaining hurdle is the Premiership club itself, who have stated that Williams definitely will not be available until nearer the transfer deadline.

"Kenny has made his thoughts on Gavin quite clear", Huw Jenkins told the Evening Post, "...and we have been told that he would like to come and play for us". "He is not getting a game at West Ham and he wants to join us because he can see we're developing, but the ball is really in West Ham's court. I think it's a case of seeing what players they manage to get in between now and the end of the month".
