West Brom Midfielder Offered Trial

Former West Brom midfielder Adam Chambers has joined the club on trial and is set to participate in tonight’s friendly at non-league Forest Green Rovers. Chambers was recommended to Jackett by QPR Manager Ian Holloway, who despite being impressed by the defender’s ability, claimed that he didn’t need another midfielder and the ex-Premiership player is hoping to earn a deal before League One kicks off in 10 days time.

"Ollie (Holloway) has recommended Adam to us”, Jackett told the Evening Post, “…and the plan is for him to play tonight and then spend some time training with us after that. He is predominantly a midfielder but also has experience of playing right-back”.

Chambers was a major part of the West Brom side that won promotion to the Premiership in 2001/02 and made 13 appearances in the top flight in the following year. Struggling to break back into the first team over the past few years, Chambers has enjoyed loan spells at Sheffield Wednesday and struggling Kidderminster before being released in May.
