Welsh Under-19 Joins On Trial

Welsh Under-19 striker Scott Thyer has joined Swansea on a one-week trial, in an attempt to earn himself a professional contract in the summer. Thyer, who is currently contracted to Tottenham, has been told that he will be released in the summer and has been recommended to Swansea manager Kenny Jackett.

Thyer had promised much in his brief Spurs career - although never making a senior appearance. Despite being confined to reserves and youth fixtures, many Tottenham fans were claiming Thyer to be the "Welsh Wayne Rooney"...a description that the Spurs management team clearly didn't agree on.

Should Thyer agree to join his hometown club, he'll find himself in the presence of fellow Welsh Under-19 striker Chad Bond. Like Thyer, big things are expected of Bond and who knows...in a few years, supporters could be singing the praises of a home-grown striking partnership at the White Rock.
