Tate primed for play-offs

The Swans can still finish in the top two after their impressive 2-0 win at Millwall on Saturday, their first away win in six games, but need both Cardiff and Norwich to drop points in their games on Monday evening.

With this unlikely the play-offs looks to be Swansea's destination and a point in their last regular season clash against Sheffield United would secure City a top-four finish, meaning they would be at home in the second leg of their play-off semi-final, but Tate says no matter who they face they will be confident of victory.

He told the South Wales Evening Post: "When we play against the big teams, teams who have got to win games, we seem to play our best.

"Look at Leeds, Nottingham Forest, Norwich - we are at our best when teams come to play against us and are going for the win. That's what it will be like in the play-offs and we'll be full of confidence if that's where we finish up."

On the possibility of facing Welsh rivals Cardiff in the play-offs, he added: "If it's Cardiff it's Cardiff, they will be great games to play in if we face them at any stage. But we're not bothered who we play."
