Tate Linked With Stockport Loan Move

Local media have reported that struggling League One side Stockport County made an offer to take Alan Tate on a month's loan, but the defender opted to stay in South Wales. Tate has been forced on to the bench in recent weeks after a decent run of form from a number of Swansea defenders and it is understood that Stockport manager Sammy McIlroy saw the ex-Man Utd defender as a short-term fix to his side's defensive problems.

However, the defender opted to remain at the Vetch and fight for his place within the side and is looking to regain some of the form he has shown in recent seasons. Nevertheless, should Swansea continue to hold onto their recent mean defensive record, Tate may be forced to look elsewhere for first team football.
