Swans-Wanderers Preview

Monk - Returns from one match ban
This weekend sees the Swans travelling to league leaders Wycombe Wanderers in an attempt to continue their recent impressive form. Morale is high in the Swansea camp after an emphatic second half display against Kidderminster last weekend and Kenny Jackett will be hoping that his side can steal some points from their trip to Buckinghamshire. However, Saturday will probably be Swansea's toughest test so far as they come up against a well-organised Tony Adams outfit that currently sits at the top of League Two. So will this weekend bring success or bitter defeat?

Wycombe blasted their way to the top of a Football League table for the first time in their history with a 2-1 victory at Southend last Saturday, with goals from Danny Senda and ex-Swan loanee Nathan Tyson. The Wanderers are unbeaten since Rochdale suprisingly stole all three points from Adams Park with a shock 3-0 victory - five games ago. Since this defeat, Wycombe have gone on to beat Kidderminster, Grimsby, Southend and claim a point in a hard fought draw against Oxford.

Wycombe's dangerman is undoubtedly striker Nathan Tyson - a player that Swansea supporters will be very familiar with after he spent one month on loan at the Vetch Field a few seasons ago. Since that loan deal, Tyson enjoyed a spell in the Reading first-team, before joining Wycombe last season. This season has shown Tyson as one of the top strikers in the division, with his pace causing League Two defences no end of trouble...scoring five goa
Trundle - Rated as "50-50"
ls in his eight appearances so far. Swansea will have to defend well to keep this goal record from being extended on Saturday.

Also likely to feature in the Wycombe line-up are ex-Premiership footballers Stuart Nethercott and Gus Uhlenbeek, plus ex-Swansea target Clint Easton. Manager Tony Adams has virtually a full side to pick from, with the exception of on-loan defender Mike Williamson who suffered an ankle injury last Saturday. Defender Gary Silk is also likely to return after completing a suspension and should replace Roger Johnson.

Swansea manager Kenny Jackett has a few injury problems of his own, with both Izzy Iriekpen and Lee Trundle rated 50-50. James Thomas and Leon Hylton both remain side-lined, while Garry Monk returns from a one-match suspension.
