Swansea Await Izzy Injury Verdict

Saturday's emphatic 3-0 victory over Kidderminster was morale-boosting for all involved - except Izzy Iriekpen. The defender limped off after half an hour with a thigh injury that could keep him out for the next three weeks.

Iriekpen had only just recovered from an ankle injury that had forced the ex-West Ham defender to miss all of Swansea pre-season campaign, plus the first four league fixtures over the new season. Izzy had forced his way back into Swansea's starting eleven and even scored his side's winner in their narrow 1-0 victory over Lincoln City on Bank Holiday Monday.

However, Iriekpen is now staring a spell on the sidelines in the face once again. Nevertheless, physio Richie Evans remains hopeful that the defender's injury is not as bad as first feared and will find out within the next few days if his Izzy's predicted three-week layoff is realistic.
