Swansea rounded off a successful season by lifting the FAW Premier Cup in the last ever fixture to be held at the Vetch Field. In an emotional evening, the Swans came back from Juan Ugarte's early second half strike to seal the trophy and the £100k prize money and earn a fantastic double.

Wrexham enjoyed the majority of possession in a tense first half and always l
ooked a danger up front with the lively Juan Ugarte a constant threat. Ugarte was denied by a last ditch Iriekpen tackle before Andy Holt's dazzling run forced Willy Gueret to save at full stretch.

Despite their opponent's dominance in possession, Swansea created arguably the better chances of the half, with Trundle and Connor both going close. Connor also had a decent penalty shout turned down before Izzy Iriekpen headed the best chance of the half wide from a Roberto Martinez corner.

Paul Connor brought the game to life immediately after the restart, with Wrexham's Ben Foster forced to make a fingertip save from his stinging drive. However, just moments after Ijah Anderson had cleared off of his own line, it was the visitors that finally broke the deadlock when poor defending allowed the un-marked Dennis Lawrence to fire the ball across the six-yard box, leaving Juan Ugarte with the simplest of finishes.

Swansea were struggling to break down a solid Wrexham defence, when Lee Trundle saw his cross deflect off Wrexham's Shaun Pejic, giving the home side a much need equaliser. Andy Robinson looked most likely to grab the Swansea winner as he continued to test Foster with a number of long distance drives and with fifteen minutes remaining, the pint-sized midfielder did just that.

Trundle brought down a long Gueret goal-kick and watched on as his first-time shot was deflected into the path of Robinson, who volleyed home into the bottom left-hand corner of the goal and ran off celebrating as the Vetch erupted for one last time.

Late Wrexham pressure could not deny the Swans a fantastic double and thousands of jubilant fans raced onto the pitch to savour the moment...and take home with them just about anything that could be removed.

The FAW Premier Cup final bought an end to the Vetch Field's 93 year association with Swansea Football Club and was a fantastic reward for Kenny Jackett's first full season in management. Although definitely the end of an era, the club can only hope that their fortunes will continue as they move down the road to their new home next season.

Swansea: Gueret, Tate, Austin, Iriekpen, Anderson, Britton (Robinson 45), Martinez, O'Leary, Trundle, Forbes, Connor (Thorpe 84).
