Swans drawn away at QPR

Swansea have been drawn away to Queens Park Rangers in the first round of the Carling Cup.

This will mark Kenny Jackett's first return to his old club in a tough fixture against a freshly promoted QPR side. This fixture could also potentially be the first return of Dennis Oli to his boyhood club, although this depends on the young trialist earning a professional contract at Swansea.

QPR and Swansea last met in 2001/02, when the Welsh side demolished the Londoners 4-0 at the Vetch in a live Sky FA Cup fixture. Last season's Carling Cup first round saw Swansea drawn away at Bristol City, where they were beaten 4-1 in a scoreline that somewhat flattered the hosts.

The club have also confirmed that the fixture will take place on Tuesday 24th August with a 7:45 kick off. Ticket prices will be announced shortly.
