Swans Confirm Fitzgerald Deal

Swansea have not only managed to complete the impressive signing of Scott Fitzgerald on an initial one month loan deal from Watford, but have also confirmed that the deal was pushed through before the deadline for tonight's LDV Vans Trophy fixture. Fitzgerald will go straight into the squad to face Luton and is likely to start after a recent Vetch Field injury crisis.

Fitzgerald, 24, was Watford's top scorer last season in Division One but has found going alot tougher this year. After failing to displace the on-form duo of Heidar Helguson and Danny Webber, Fitzgerald agreed to make the move to South Wales for an initial month - which could be extended further depending on a number of circumstances.

Neither Lee Trundle nor Kevin Nugent have trained since Saturday after picking up minor knocks - both face late fitness tests before tonight's game. Paul Connor and James Thomas are both definitely out, as is youth striker Mark Pritchard who continues to nurse a broken cheekbone. Therefore, it seems evident that Fitzgerald will start Swansea's LDV Vans tie...but the question is, alongside who?!
