Swans Alerted By Tipton Release

Swansea are closely monitoring Matthew Tipton's situation after the Macclesfield striker was suprisingly told that he would not be offered a new deal this summer. The Swans are one of six clubs said to be interested in snapping up the Swansea-born striker, who bagged 13 goals in Macclesfield's push for the play-offs.

Tipton has been a target for both Kenny Jackett and Brian Flynn over recent seasons and has previously admitted an interest in returning to play professional football in the area that he was brought up in. The striker twelve goals in 90 appearances for Oldham, before notching a scoring record of around one goal in every three games in his four seasons at Macclesfield.

Tipton's agent Wayne Elsey told Sky Sports, "Darlington, Mansfield, Wrexham, Swansea and Cheltenham have expressed an interest. I'll be speaking to all of those clubs today. They all wanted to be contacted once Matthew had spoken to Macclesfield".
