Striker's Talks With Darlo Break Down

Darlington manager David Hodgson has confirmed that negotiations with Swansea striker Paul Connor have broken down. Although the deal is not dead in the water, Connor has returned to South Wales to seek clarification on his future at Swansea before making any decisions.

"The initial terms we have offered him aren't quite what he wants", Hodgson told the Northern Echo. "Obviously, there are discussions between him and Swansea so we will just have to wait and see. We will be speaking to Paul again on Monday and we will take things from there".

With Bournemouth now also expressing an interest in the ex-Stoke and Middlesboro' forward, Connor is set to discover if there is any chance of first-team football in South Wales next season. It is understood that his first choice would be to remain at the club that he helped to promotion last season, although the decision could well be out of his hands.
