"It was hard to lift the players mentally after the game, they didn't take the result so well," he said.
"They were frustrated and they were down even more than I expected.
"But I told them we can't afford to look back on all these decisions going against us and we need to be strong.
"Thankfully football always gives you the opportunity to move on quickly. Our opportunity will come at QPR on Saturday and I know the boys are raring to go again."
