Skipper Pens New Deal

Garry Monk has signed a new contract with The Swans.
The 30-year-old Swans captain has put-pen-to-paper on a new contract which will keep him at the Liberty Stadium until 2012.

"Garry is one of the players we think is very important to our project for his experience, quality and leadership,'' Swans boss Paulo Sousa told BBC Sport.

"He is an important figure in the dressing room and on the pitch.

"He knows the club's philosophy and I'm delighted he's committed his long-term future to us.''
