Rodgers urges Swans to push on

Swans kept alive their hopes of automatic promotion with a much-needed 3-0 victory over second-placed Norwich on Saturday, moving them to within one point of the top two.

Sixty nine points is the same amount City managed over the whole of last term as they agonisingly missed out on a play-off place, while - albeit having already conceded one more goal and lost two more games than in 2009/10 - they have also clinched four more wins and scored 17 more goals.

Rodgers wants to see his side remain together as a unit over the closing weeks to give what would be an historic promotion their best shot.

He said: "We have got the same number of points as last season. We have to be one group going into the final six games. We can only control our own situation. It's a great achievement but we have to push on now."
