Rodgers praises mental toughness of players

Stephen Dobbie climbed off the bench in the 72nd minute and netted the winner just four minutes later as the Swans narrowly clung on to the second automatic promotion spot in the npower Championship.

"It was a tough game for us and we knew it would be. We knew Coventry would be coming into this fresh and they have a style that meant we knew we would have to defend a lot of high balls," Rodgers said.

"We stood strong to that and we kept ourselves in the game for long enough that we could eventually take control of a difficult game and get a fantastic win.

"We had to show steel and determination to get the result and those are the things you have to have if you are going to be a top team and be successful.

"I think we have shown what we are all about and Ashley Williams has just said that we are now winning games that we maybe wouldn't have done before. That's our eighth away win in the Championship and that's a very pleasing return."
