Rangel only worried about Swans

Swansea are only four points above the relegation zone, while only goal difference has prevented Saturday's opponents dropping in.

Spaniard Mel is under increasing pressure having not yet won a league match since being appointed in January, but compatriot Rangel, whose Swans team-mates Jose Canas and Alejandro Pozuelo were coached by Mel at Real Betis, insists that is no concern of theirs.

"He's under pressure at West Brom because he hasn't won a game and in British football you see managers getting sacked all the time if they don't win games," he told the South Wales Echo.

"That's what happens, but if he gets sacked it's not our problem

We have to concentrate on survival.

"It's not easy because he doesn't know the club and he doesn't understand British football very much and if he doesn't speak a lot of English it's going to be even harder."

Swansea put Garry Monk in charge in February after dispensing with Michael Laudrup, and the former player has accrued five points from four matches but they are still threatened by relegation.

"For Garry, it's not easy either, but he knows the club and has got all the qualities to be a great manager," Rangel added.

"We need to work hard and make sure we stay up - that's the target

Who knows how many (points) we will need?

"We have a lot of games at home against teams around us, which is the most important thing: the next one is West Brom and that's going to be a massive game for us."
