Oli Quits Cambridge

Ex-Swansea striker Dennis Oli has decided to quit Cambridge United after only being offered a week-to-week deal. Oli had originally been placed upon a rolling monthly contract but opted to search for a new club after Cambridge decided that it would only offer him a weekly deal. Manager Herve Renard defended the club's position, stating that Oli's alarming injury proneness meant that they could not commit for any longer.

Dennis Oli originally joined Swansea on trial in the summer, but left the club after just one substitute appearance against Northampton. The strong, pacy frontman scored had never previously scored a competitive senior goal in over 30 appearances, but amended his recorded after only a few minutes of his Cambridge debut.

Speaking to Sky Sports News, Herve Renard stated that Oli was only training once or twice a week due to his injuries, meaning that Cambridge made the decision to reduce his deal to a rolling weekly contract until he proved his fitness. Oli has walked out of the club and Swans MAD would like to wish him the best of luck!
