Nuge Postpones Retirement

Assistant manager Kevin Nugent has decided to postpone ending his playing career after deciding to play on for one more season. The 36-year old made 23 appearances in all competitions for Swansea this season, scoring four goals in the process and believes it may be worth his while to register himself as a player for one last season.

"I played a couple of reserve games recently and my knee did not feel too bad", Nugent told BBC Sport. "I'll do a bit of work in the summer and see how I feel...with the new transfer window coming in next season, it's probably worth registering me as a player anyway".

Nugent initially joined Swansea on a month's loan from Leyton Orient in the dreaded 2002/03 season, scoring numerous crucial goals to keep the club in the football league. Despite struggling with a knee injury since Christmas, the veteran still believes he can provide able back-up for Swansea's League One challenge.
