Monk Suspended For Kidderminster Fixture

Central defender Garry Monk will miss Saturday's League Two fixture against Kidderminster Harriers after his dismissal in Swansea's 1-0 defeat at Yeovil. Monk received a straight red card for a professional foul on Saturday, meaning an immediate one-match ban under new Football League rules.

Monk's suspension is likely to pave the way for new signing Andy Gurney to make his first start for the Swans. Gurney began Saturday's defeat on the bench, but the ex-Swindon skipper will surely be moved to a starting role against the Harriers.
