Saturday November 11th 1995
was not a day to remember if you were a Swansea City fan. That was the day the Swans lost 7-0 against Fulham in an FA Cup 1st Round match at Craven Cottage, in the only meeting between the two teams in the FA Cup. The Swans at that time were in the old league division 2 and Fulham were even lower down the league structure in the old league division 3.

Tomorrow's Liberty Stadium encounter sees both teams higher up the league ladder, with Fulham now a Premiership team and
Swansea seventeen places below them in the Championship. Roberto Martinez in an interview with the BBC said that he feels Fulham are the favourites, which is contrary to the bookmakers who make the Swans slight favourites. Martinez said;

"We've got a very difficult game against a Fulham side that are enjoying a very good season. They are full of internationals that have played at the top, top level and we are looking at that possibility that we will have to be on top of our game to try and compete against this sort of side. "Fulham, as they are the favourites are going to dictate things, they are going to control things and that's something we are going to have to adapt to it."It's going to be a great challenge for us. They are a very complete team. "You look in every department of the side and Roy Hodgson has put a very strong side together. The quality throughout the squad is magnificent.

Roberto Martinez has decided against signing another goalkeeper to replace Dimi Konstantopoulos, but instead gives 17-year old Swansea-born David Cornell a place on the bench for tomorrow's game. The only change from the team that beat Ipswich 3-0 last Saturday, will probably be Rangel for Serran at right-back. Serran, however, can count himself unlucky to give way to his fellow countryman, after his superb performance in last Saturday's game.

Swansea City (probable); De Vries, Rangel, Monk, Williams, Tate, Gomez, Britton, Allen, Dyer, Gower, Scotland. Subs (from) Cornell, Serran, Orlandi, Owain Tudur-Jones, Butler, Bauza, O'Leary.
