MATCH PREVIEW - GILLINGHAM V SWANS

Last updated : 15 September 2006 By Knightfever

Swans head to Kent tomorrow with one aim – to extend their unbeaten run to six games. Trundle will again be missing from the squad, together with Shaun MacDonald who has been ruled out with a thigh strain. Leon Knight will again lead the attack after his classic two-goal strike against Brentford on Tuesday night. He should be partnered up front by Gills transfer deadline target Bayo Akinfenwa, who, in my opinion, is due a goal after being unlucky not to score so far this season.

Swans have no other injury doubts, although both Bayo and Dennis Lawrence were carrying knocks after the Bees contest. Both are expected to start against the Gills, who have also won their last two games, away at Doncaster and at home to Millwall.

Gillingham will be without one-time Swans target central defender Brent Sancho, who will be missing for 4-6 weeks. Gills manager Ronnie Jepson believes the Swans game will be difficult for his team.

It is nice to get back-to-back wins, which can be difficult to do at times in this league," Jepson told the club official website.

"Last season, we got a good victory at Swansea and then a nice victory here so hopefully it will be the same again. We know from having watched them in their last two games that they are a very powerful side. They have made a few additions from last season.

"They are physical, they play at a high tempo, they move the ball around, have good runners from midfield and they have great strength upfront with the likes of Adebayo Akinfenwa, Rory Fallon, Lee Trundle and Leon Knight, who are all great strikers. They play it in the right manner and it will be a difficult game."

Tomorrow's referee is Andy Woolmer from Northamptonshire.

Swans probable line up tomorrow:

Gueret, Amankwah, Lawrence, Izzy, Austin, Britton,Tate, Pratley,Butler, Knight, Akinfenwa. Subs, from: Oakes, Watt, O'Leary, Robinson, Way,
Fallon.
