Jackett Faces Selection Headache

Kenny Jackett will have something of a selection headache this weekend, following the news that he may have to re-shuffle his defensive line-up once again. With Kevin Austin already ruled out for three weeks with a pulled hamstring, Gary Monk was carried off the training ground yesterday and now becomes a major doubt.

Monk has travelled north, but should he be unavailable for the clash, then Jackett will not even have ex-Manchester United centre back Alan Tate to call upon, as he damaged ankle ligaments earlier in the week and is ruled out until April. Jackett could therefore be forced to rely upon either youngster Stuart Jones or midfield general Kristian O'Leary to fill the void.

Jackett however will gain great confidence from the strength in depth in all other areas that he now has to choose from, following numerous injuries and suspension problems since mid-August. With the promotion run-in now fully underway, the Swansea manager will just be hoping that his defence can quickly overcome their defensive worries.
