Is Bob Bradley Swanseas biggest gamble yet

Last updated : 11 October 2016 By DSG

The 58-year-old left French club Le Havre to take over from Italian Francsesco Guidolin at the liberty stadium

but who is Bradley, what can he do for the swans those are the biggest questions in the minds of every swans fan and if am one of them then i would be very worried right now.

Bradley is an american who most of his career has been playing and managing in his home country clubs and the national team.He managed US national team for six years from 2006 and relieved of his duties by the United States Soccer Federation after been accused of nepotism; favoring his own son Michael Bradley who was an average players in favor of better players, then took on Egypt national team for two and half years and got axed after failing to qualify them for 2014 world cup

He then moved to Norway and managed newly promoted Stabæk for two years where he finished ninth and third respectively.last season he was managing Le Harve in french league two and could not lead them to promotion to league one finishing fourth.Bradley's best achievement came while managing US national team in 2009 Confederations Cup run.USA shocked many to reach the final of the World Cup warm-up, beating Euro 2008 champions Spain 2-0 to ending their 35-game unbeaten streak.

From the achievement of his career it can be said he is still a learning manager with no history of great achievement and Swansea might have come too soon for him. There is a big difference in managing a national team and a club especially a premier league club Philippe Scholari and LVG are living proofs

the mystery of how he came on top of all the other aspirants in his position still remains unexplained

Its easier to believe he got fevers from his country men who own the club

he is also said to play a counter-attack football with a hard-working defense

Is it Swansea playing style?

When it went wrong for Swansea

Things started going wrong to me after confirming Alan Curtis who replaced sacked Garry Monk as a caretaker until the end of the season

when the swans hierarchy first sacked Michael Laudrup they looked into themselves and let Garry Monk to be a player-coach until they find a new manager, i thought it was a good decision since he dint need a lot of time to settle; he knew everyone with in the club and could see what was going wrong for Laudrup, immediately Monk started at home with the south welsh derby demolishing Cardiff 3-0

he went a head and survived the relegation battle with one game to go

In the 2014-15 season he did a remarkable job after finishing eighth in the table with a record 56 points

Monk was later sacked in in December the following season after a bad start having one win in eleven matches

Swansea hierarchy again looked into themselves and appointed Alan Curtis on game by game basis until they find a new manager

Alan Curtis is a Swansea legend having scored over century of goals and making more than 250 appearances and also who was the first team coach since Michael Laudrup

Curtis won his first and second games and was confirmed until the end of the season as a caretaker

Curtis lost the third match and eleven days after his appointment as a caretaker he was replaced by Franscesco Guidolin and Alan Curtis returned back to his previous role as the first team coach.

I thought that was unfair on him in the three games you could see the guy changed the mentality of the team and also just like the appointment of Garry Monk it was going to work for them since he was part of them and doesn't need time to settle

Franseco, a gamble from serie A and having not managed top flight backfired, six month after his appointment Swansea are again in crisis and here they are now trying what is dabbed as even bigger gamble for the welsh side.

I also thought the swans squad last season wasn't so bad they only needed reinforcement in some departments especially forward.I have to say i dint see the Ayew selling coming since he had a first good season and was the second top scorer for them netting eight times

He was a quality player they got for free and they could only be tempted selling him by 20 million pounds

If they were to get a player of Ayew quality they weren't going to pay less than that

Ayew had a lot to offer the team and could have been probably a bigger player for them this season, the 26 year old had a lot of more years to come for him

I strongly believe Ayew, Fer and Siggudson could play together and be a good partners upfront.

What Huw Jenkins & Co would have done

Bob Bradley appointment has left fans quite concerning having not managed any top flight, not managed in any top Europe leagues, lacking big achievements in his career and lack of understanding of the English football

To me instead of Bradley Huw Jenkins and CO would have gone for one of there own especially Alan Curtis who deserves a chance after dedicating all his life to the club and is defenietly cherished by the fans or even there fellow welsh man Ryan Giggs who is rumored to have met with him

with all his experience Giggs would have been great for Swansea and having spent all his life at Manchester united Giggs can handle all the pressure and exactly knows what it takes to manage them

it would also have been such a great managerial career start for him.
