"I'm Not Interested In Going Anywhere Else!"

Swansea defender Izzy Iriekpen wants to end speculation regarding his future at the club by stating that he intends to sign a new contract. The ex-West Ham defender was rumoured to be attracting interest from the likes of Plymouth and Stoke, yet claims the delay in signing his new deal is merely down to the fact that Chairman Huw Jenkins is away on holiday.

Speaking to the Evening Post from his holiday abroad, Iriekpen stated, "I'm not sure what is happening with my contract at the moment as the chairman is on holiday. I spoke to my agent a couple of weeks ago and, hopefully, we can get it sorted out shortly. Hopefully, most of the team that won promotion will stay. I want to stay and, hopefully, we can win promotion again".

Izzy and the other out of contract players are most likely to seal their deals by the end of next week, when all relevant parties return from their breaks away. Leon Britton remains the only contract worry, with Kenny Jackett admitting that the pint-sized midfielder's situation is currently 50-50.
