Gurney Makes Robins' Return Debut

Andy Gurney finally enjoyed his first minutes of League One football this season...as Swindon beat Yeovil 4-2 at the County Ground. Named on the substitute's bench by Andy King, Gurney was forced to watch on from the sidelines for just 33 minutes, before replacing the injured Sean O'Hanlon in the Swindon defence.

Unsuprisingly, the Swansea defender was anxious to impress and he appeared to make an immediate difference in his familiar right back role. After almost scoring from a header in the first half, Gurney continued to whip in crosses and impressed King with his "experienced" performance.

However, despite being involved in the build up for the second and third goals, Gurney gave away a penalty when he rashly chopped down Yeovil striker Nathan Jones. Kenny Jackett's primary transfer target, Lee Johnson, missed the spot-kick and Gurney was let off the hook.

The Swansea defender is expected to go straight into the first team for the Robins' Bank Holiday Monday fixture and will be delighted to be playing first team football again.
