The Italian oversaw a 2-1 win at Everton in his first match in charge to make it six points in the week he arrived at the club, which has now moved the Swans four clear of safety.
Without the services of Bafetimbi Gomis, who remained at home for the birth of his baby, Guidolin started at Goodison Park without a recognised striker with Gylfi Sigurdsson, who opened the scoring with a penalty, supporting forward Andre Ayew, who netted the winner after Jack Cork's own goal, and Wayne Routledge.
The Swansea boss admits he needs more firepower but remains unsure whether it will arrive this month.
"You need someone (up front) but I don't know what is happening in the next days," he said.
"I speak with my chairman every day. I can say only that we have our convention but I remember that this transfer window is not easy.
"In Italy it is difficult to have players in this transfer window and I think it is difficult in Premier League."
If Swansea can maintain their momentum, having registered back-to-back top-flight wins for the first time this season in addition to beating Everton in the league for the first time in their history, that may become less of an issue.
Guidolin was in the stands to see Monday's win over Watford and he has been encouraged by what he has witnessed so far.
"Six points in two matches is very important for us because the table was not good," he added.
"I hope to have the possibility to go up in the table.
"In this moment I am very happy. This is the first match in Premier League for me.
"I dreamed of working in Premier League but I didn't dream of winning the first match.
"I must understand what happens in this day because I am surprised. It is new for me."
Everton have no momentum at all, especially at home where they have the unenviable record of having conceded the most goals in the league this season - 22 in 12 matches.
"We haven't found the right way of playing at home. That is the truth," added Martinez, who has lost injured midfielders Muhamed Besic and Kevin Mirallas for Wednesday's Capital One Cup semi-final second leg at Manchester City.
"The stats reflect a really poor defensive record at home.
"We want to impress our fans, play attacking football and become a winning team but we are finding it tough to free ourselves."
