Fresh Injuries For Robinson & Maylett

Last updated : 21 October 2004 By Richard Evans
Kenny Jackett could be without both Andy Robinson and Brad Maylett for this weekend's visit of Darlington, after the two midfielders picked up injuries on Tuesday night. Robinson pulled a muscle in his hip after during Swansea's 1-0 victory over Leyton Orient, while Maylett pulled up with an abdominal problem in the warm-down after the game. Robinson is rated as 50:50 for the fixture but Maylett has been definitely ruled out and will visit a specialist today to discover whether or not he has a hernia.

However, Jackett did receive some better news, with Andy Gurney coming thorugh the full 90 minutes unscathed after a recent back injury. Gurney had been rested for the Southend fixture - a decision that Jackett believes may have paid off as the injury has all but gone.

With the exception of Kris O'Leary, who is expected to shake off a minor knock taken during the Orient fixture, Swansea have been dealt no fresh new injury worries and will be looking forward to their big weekend match against Darlington. Their opponents have been much-fancied in recent weeks following a number of high-profile signings and Jackett will be hoping that they can claim another credible three points.
