Ex-Swansea Manager Desperate For Wales Job

"I would tell the FAW to pick up the phone and call me", stated a desperate Flynn after the announcement of Mark Hughes' impending resignation from the Welsh national job. Ex-Swansea manager Flynn, who was sacked in March 2004 from the Vetch Field, believes that he could be the right man to take the national side forward and build on the foundations that Hughes has already created.

"I said when I took over the Wrexham job 14 years ago that my long-term ambition was to manage my country and that remains," Flynn told the BBC. However, whether or not Welsh fans would be happy to see Flynn take the role on is another question altogether. After a recent positive set of results over the likes of Italy, Germany and Croatia, Welsh football fans will surely be looking for something a little more high profile than Flynn - with the likes of Sir Bobby Robson one of the favourites to land the role.

Do you think Flynn has what it takes to manage at International level?? Vote in the poll now!!
