Edwards Returns To Bristol Rovers

Christian Edwards has returned to Bristol Rovers after his loan deal expired in South Wales. The ex-Nottingham Forest centre-back had hoped to make his return to Swansea a permanent one, but Kenny Jackett no longer has any need for him, with Garry Monk, Izzy Iriekpen and Kevin Austin all fit and available.

Edwards' future at the Memorial Ground is unclear, with Ian Atkins desperately trying to offload the club's biggest earner to just about anyone. The defender had been transfer-listed since the summer and now faces a long, hard battle if he is to break back into the Rovers' first team.

The ex-Swans defender made two starts and one substitute's appearance during his one-month loan spell and generally impressed most who saw him. However, despite hoping to secure a permanent deal, it is no suprise to see Swansea letting him go, as he is was only a short-term measure to help fill the void left by suspension and injury.
