Paul Connor has revealed that his current Swansea contract has been extended until the summer of 2006, following Kenny Jackett's decision to activate an option in the striker's contract. The striker confirmed that Jackett decided in pre-season to use a clause in Connor's contract, that extends his links with Swansea for at least another season.

Speaking to the Evening Post, Connor stated "I was well pleased with that because it's given me a bit of security". "I came a long way from home when I joined Swansea and it's nice to know that I've got a couple of years ahead of me down here".

The news comes just days after the club announced that they would be extending Lee Trundle's contract by a further two years and speculation is now rife that Willy Gueret will also be offered a new deal soon. It appears that the club's board are looking to secure the future's of their biggest assets as soon as possible. thus avoiding the prospect of losing them on free transfers over the summer.
