City "Cannot Afford" To Let Goodfellow Go

Bristol City manager Brian Tinnion has stated that he "cannot afford" to allow anymore players leave the club as he attempts to mount a final promotion push to the Championship. With a senior squad size of a mere 18 professionals, with many only one caution away from suspension, Tinnion has told the club's website that no-one else will be leaving the club in the near future.

This will most probably mean that long-time Swansea target Marc Goodfellow will be forced to remain at Ashton Gate and that Kenny Jackett must look elsewhere. Goodfellow spent a month on loan at Swansea in December, but so far both clubs have yet to agree a fee for the left winger.

With Swansea's bids falling well short of City's valuation, combined with Tinnion's latest claims, it appears that Jackett will be forced to concentrate on his other transfer targets, including Rushden's Andy Burgess and Wrexham's Chris Llewellyn. Following his side's FA Cup showing on Sky, Swansea have around £125k to spend in the transfer market...although it appears that they will not be paying any amount of this for Marc Goodfellow.
