Boo-Boys Are "Last Thing We Need"

the last thing we need is our own fans getting on our backsLee Trundle has urged Swansea fans to get behind their side as they approach the final League Two promotion run-in, instead of attacking them. The team left the Vetch to a chorus of boos on Saturday following their 0-0 draw with Grimsby, with particular abuse centred on Roberto Martinez, Andy Gurney and manager Kenny Jackett, but Trundle has stated that such a reaction will only have a negative effect on the side.

"When the crowd turn against some players, it knocks them out of their stride", Trundle told the Evening Post, "especially if their confidence is low in the first place". ''I was a little disappointed with the way some of the fans reacted". "To sing 'Jackett sort it out' can't be right when you look at the job he's done". ''It's simple really...if they're behind us it helps, and if they're not it doesn't".

Trundle has echoed further comments from club-captain Roberto Martinez and Kenny Jackett, who are all as desperate as the supporters to kick-start Swansea's run-in after four games without a win. "We just want everyone to pull together to get us through the sticky spell"
